How do you choose a bounce house theme?
Three questions settle most parties: what is the birthday kid into right now, how old are the guests, and do you want wet or dry?
Age matters more than theme. Our safety rules call for extra supervision for kids 3 and under, and older kids shouldn't bounce with toddlers unless an adult is watching closely. If most of the guests are toddlers, start with a toddler unit (there's a section on those below) and carry the theme with balloons and the cake.
Wet or dry comes down to the weather. Water slides are the pick for hot days. Several of our combos run either way.
12 bounce house themes, matched to real units
Prices are starting daily rates on our site as of October 2026. Delivery, setup and takedown are included in our service area.
1. Princess castle
Unit: the Lucky Princess Bounce House 5-in-1 (from $250), or the Disney Princess Bounce House 6-in-1 Combo, which runs wet or dry (from $275). For a smaller budget, the Princess Module Castle starts at $150.
Party ideas: a crown-decorating table at the entrance, lemonade served in teacups, and a group photo in front of the castle before cake.
2. Dinosaurs
Unit: the Jurassic Park Bounce House Combo (from $275). For a water day, there's the 22ft Jurassic Rush Waterslide (from $355).
Party ideas: a fossil dig with plastic dinosaurs buried in a kiddie sandbox, green punch, and an egg hunt with painted plastic "dino eggs."
3. Outer space
Unit: the Galaxies Away Bounce House with Slide (from $275). Star Wars fans can have the Star Wars Bounce House Combo, wet or dry (from $275).
Party ideas: glow sticks if the party runs into dusk, a planet-painting table with foam balls, and freeze-dried "astronaut" ice cream as the favor.
4. Mickey and friends
Unit: the Mickey and Friends Bounce House Combo, wet or dry (from $275).
Party ideas: mouse-ear headbands as favors and red, black and yellow balloons.
5. Superheroes
Unit: add the Marvel Art Panel ($15) to a compatible bounce house. Art panels attach to select units only, so ask which ones fit when you book.
Party ideas: a cape-and-mask station, a backyard training course of cones and hula hoops, and a "hero pose" photo for every guest.
6. Fire trucks and monster trucks
Unit: the Fire Truck Art Panel or the Monster Trucks Art Panel ($15 each) on a compatible bounce house.
Party ideas: plastic fire helmets as favors, a bubble "car wash" for ride-on toys, and toy trucks on top of the cake.
7. Farm and ponies
Unit: the Farm Playground (from $225). For horse lovers, add the Magical Pony Art Panel ($15) to a compatible bounce house.
Party ideas: bandanas at the door and a pin-the-tail game.
8. Under the sea
Unit: the Mermaid Art Panel ($15) on a compatible bounce house, or go wet with the 18ft Blue Crush Waterslide (from $300).
Party ideas: blue and teal tablecloths, seashell cookies and a goldfish-cracker bar. If you have a pool, keep it separate from the party: our rules keep inflatables away from swimming pools.
9. Volcanoes and lava
Unit: the 24ft Liquid Hot Magma Waterslide (from $425).
Party ideas: an adult-run baking-soda volcano, orange and red decorations, and red popsicles to cool off after the slide.
10. Tropical luau
Unit: the Lil Kahuna 15ft Slide, wet or dry (from $225), or the 18ft Tropical Double Splash (from $365).
Party ideas: flower leis handed out at the door, fruit served in pineapple cups, and a limbo contest set well away from the slide landing.
11. Sports day
Unit: the 3-in-1 Sport Game (from $225), the Shooting Stars Basketball Game (from $225) or the Soccer Dart Game (from $175). The Sports Art Panel ($15) brings the theme onto a compatible bounce house.
Party ideas: numbered team shirts and a medal ceremony at the end.
12. Halloween birthday
Unit: the Halloween Bounce House (from $350). Zombie Town and Happy Haunting are $15 art panels for compatible units.
Party ideas: a costume parade, pumpkin painting instead of carving for the little ones, and a candy-bag station on the way out.
What about a first or second birthday?
Go with a toddler unit: the 2-in-1 Bounce Combo Toddler Unit (from $165), the Toddler Wet Combo Unit (from $165) or the Toddler Water Park Inflatable (from $175). If older cousins are coming, give them a separate unit or their own time slot so the little ones get the space to themselves.
What should you have ready on party day?
- Be home for setup and show us where the unit goes. Pick a spot that's roughly level and clear of sticks and sharp objects.
- Point out the outlet for the blower, plus a hose connection if you booked a wet unit.
- We confirm delivery details 1 to 2 days before the party. Depending on the route, our crew may arrive a few hours early, and some units are dropped off the day before. If your party has a fixed start, like a park reservation, tell us when you book.
- Keep silly string, confetti, food and drinks off the unit. Silly string damages the vinyl for good.
- An adult has to supervise the whole time.
- Pick the unit that carries the theme, then decorate around it.
- Match the unit to your guests' ages before you pick the theme.
- $15 art panels add a theme to select bounce houses. Ask which ones fit.
- Choose a water slide for hot days. Wet/dry combos work either way.
